TAKPOXY-219

NOVOLAC EPOXY SYSTEM

TAKAMOL introduces TAKPOXY-219, a high-performance two-component epoxy system engineered for applications that demand exceptional heat resistance, chemical durability, and mechanical strength. Built on a proprietary blend of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) resin modified with 20% epoxy novolac resin, and cured with a modified aromatic polyamine hardener, this system delivers a fully cross-linked network capable of sustained performance in demanding industrial, electrical, and structural environments.

Where standard epoxy systems fall short under prolonged heat or aggressive chemical exposure, TAKPOXY-219 is formulated to hold up — making it a reliable choice for engineers and formulators who need a resin system that performs when conditions get tough.

Product Description
TAKPOXY-219 combines a liquid DGEBA base resin with an epoxy novolac modifier to increase average epoxy functionality and crosslink density beyond what conventional DGEBA systems achieve. The result is a resin network with meaningfully higher glass transition temperature (Tg), heat deflection temperature (HDT), and chemical resistance — while the DGEBA component keeps the uncured resin workable for standard processing methods.

Paired with our modified aromatic polyamine curing agent (Part B) at a balanced, near-stoichiometric mix ratio, the system is designed for a two-stage cure: an initial ambient-to-moderate cure followed by an elevated-temperature post-cure around 200°C. This post-cure step is what unlocks the system's full thermal and mechanical performance, fully vitrifying the resin network.

Typical applications include:

  • High-performance protective and industrial maintenance coatings
  • Electrical laminates and encapsulation compounds
  • Structural and tooling adhesives for elevated-temperature service
  • Flooring and lining systems exposed to aggressive chemicals
